Rules and regulations

***The minimum per team will be 9 people (2 being female) If you have more than 9 ppl than you have to have at least 3 females on the team. If playing 10 people on the field, 3 of the players must be female***

Rules: 

1. Games will be seven innings, or 1-hour in length, which ever comes first.

2. No Bunting is allowed, automatic out.

3. Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated! NO FOUL LANGUAGE, UMPIRE ABUSE OR ILLEGAL PHYSICAL CONTACT.

4. Coin toss will determine home team.

5. Only one base may be taken on an over-thrown ball that goes out of play or off the field.

6. NO STEALING BASES.

7. Runner may only leave base once the ball has been hit.

8. Cleats (baseball, football, soccer, softball, lacrosse etc) are permitted, NO METAL SPIKES

9. Teams must have minimum of 9 people on the field to start the game, but may finish with eight, with at least two being female.

10. No more than 10 people on a field at once per team (3 of which have to be female)

11. No Alcoholic beverages permitted!

12. There will be a waiver on hand at the fields for all participants to sign, NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

13. Players MUST BE 16 years of age or older, again NO EXCEPTIONS.

14. Positions on the field may be changed, but the batting order must stay the SAME.

15. Team captains will be responsible for setting up a batting order for their teams, and making sure that the players bat in order.

16. No smoking on the field, outside the fences is allowed.

17. HOMERUNS EQUAL OUTS AND $1 DONATION

18. THERE IS A RESTRICTION ON THE HEIGHT OF ALL PITCHES. THE MINIMUM HEIGHT IS 6 FEET AND THE MAXIMUM IS 12 FEET.

19.  You may bat the number of players that you have on your team. If batting more then 10 players 3 must be female.  

20. METAL BATS ARE NOW BANNED! You must use a wooden bat. The corn dog is an approved wooden bat (bats will be provided)

To register a team please send an email to BatsForMattSoftball@gmail.com In the email please include your team name, team captain and a contact number for your captain. The deadline to register your team is July 17th. Please remember this is a coed softball tournament so you must have the correct number of males and females. 

 ****NO PETS ALLOWED ON DOWNINGTOWN LITTLE LEAGUE PROPERTY! This is the Little Leagues rule not ours. If you show up with you pet you will be asked to leave. NO exceptions!
